Nationwide Protests; Two Citizens Arrested in Sanandaj

Hrana News Agency – During nationwide protests, two citizens in Sanandaj were arrested and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to Hrana News Agency, citing Kurdpa, on Wednesday, September 30, 1401 (September 21, 2022), Pariya Mortazaei, a resident of Sanandaj, was arrested by security forces.
Also, on Monday, September 28, 1401 (September 19, 2022), Mohammad Kazemi, 60, son of Amin, was arrested by security forces in Sanandaj.
These citizens were arrested during the September 1401 (September 2022) protests.
So far, no information is available regarding the place of detention and the charges against these citizens.
The September 1401 (September 2022) protests are referred to as a series of nationwide protests that began on September 26, 1401 (September 17, 2022) following the death of a 22-year-old girl named Mahsa (Zhina) Amini as a result of the actions of the Guidance Patrol (morality police) in Tehran, and by October 1, 1401 (September 23, 2022) had spread to at least 85 cities and 18 universities across 29 provinces of the country. These protests, which are still ongoing, have so far resulted in the arrest of hundreds of people and the killing and wounding of dozens of protesters, including children.
Media outlets close to security institutions, by accusing the accused of violent acts, released forced confessions from some of the detainees. The Iranian government also disrupted the internet nationwide in the residential sector and on mobile phones.
