Taliban Prevent Female Students from Entering University with ‘Colored Headscarves’

A video circulating on social media shows Taliban forces at the entrance of Kabul Teacher Training University preventing female students wearing colored headscarves from entering.
A woman in the video states that the Taliban have prevented the entry and presence of students who wore colored headscarves, noting that the Taliban had previously warned about this issue.
The Taliban had previously warned female students to refrain from wearing colored headscarves and to wear black headscarves instead.
Earlier, the Taliban introduced an odd-even scheme to implement gender segregation in universities, whereby female students attend classes on odd-numbered days and male students attend on even-numbered days.
The Taliban has designated a type of burqa or long black covering as the Islamic and legal hijab.
It appears that the Taliban, which had previously claimed it did not want to behave like its previous rule, has increased restrictions on women’s rights.
The Taliban government recently ordered all government employees to grow beards and wear Taliban-approved clothing, banned women from flying without a male guardian, and contrary to previous promises, has not opened school doors to girls.
The Taliban has also ordered gender segregation in parks so that women are allowed entry three days a week and men four other days, including weekends. This means that even couples and families cannot go to parks together.
