Presence of 800 Child Laborers on Streets of Kermanshah

Hrana News Agency – The General Director of Welfare of Kermanshah Province reported the presence of 600 to 800 child laborers in Kermanshah Province who are working on the streets due to neglect, lack of guardianship, or economic hardships.
According to Hrana News Agency, citing Mehr News, the General Director of Welfare of Kermanshah Province reported the presence of 800 child laborers on the streets of Kermanshah Province.
Farhanaz Mohammadi stated in this regard: According to UNICEF’s definition, individuals under 18 years of age are considered children, and the work of these children on the streets is a social harm. Children under 18 years old should have access to their daily natural needs including education, health, and schooling. However, young children are working on the streets and are deprived of their daily needs.
The General Director of Welfare of Kermanshah Province emphasized: Due to the prolonged time that child laborers spend on the streets, they are exposed to various social harms and exploitation by different criminal groups, with the most important factor in their presence on the streets being poverty.
The General Director of Welfare of Kermanshah Province noted: It is estimated that 600 to 800 child laborers are present in Kermanshah Province who are working on the streets due to neglect, lack of guardianship, or economic hardships.
He pointed out: If these children are spotted, they should be treated with kindness, and in case of any problems, the social emergency hotline 123 should be called to cooperate in solving the issue.
