855 Child Laborers Identified in Fars Province Over the Past Year

The Deputy of Social Affairs of Fars Province’s Welfare Organization reported the identification of 855 child laborers and street children across the province over the past year. According to him, 80 percent of these children are foreign nationals.
According to Hrana news agency citing Tasnim, the Deputy of Social Affairs of Fars Province’s Welfare Organization reported the identification of 855 child laborers and street children across the province during the year 1400.
The Deputy of Social Affairs of Fars Province’s Welfare Organization stated in this regard: More than 80 percent of child laborers and street children in this province are foreign nationals, most of whom are between 6 and 17 years old, and approximately 16 percent of these children are girls and 84 percent are boys.
Massoumeh Faruten noted: Some of these children have education cards, some have exemption cards for schooling, and some are undocumented.
Also in December of last year, according to the announcement by the Office of Social Victims Affairs of Fars Province’s Welfare Organization, the cities of Marvdasht and Larestan had the largest population of child laborers and street children after the metropolis of Shiraz.
