At Least 7 Teachers and Labor Activists Arrested During Nationwide Teachers’ Gathering

Hrana News Agency – On Monday, February 1st, during a nationwide gathering of teachers in the country, at least 7 teacher activists and labor activists were arrested and transferred to an unknown location. Following a call by the Coordination Council of Labor Unions of Iranian Educators, working and retired teachers and educators in various cities across the country held protest gatherings today in objection to their unaddressed demands.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news organ of the Iranian Human Rights Activists group, on Monday, February 1st, 1400, during the nationwide gathering of teachers, at least 7 teachers were arrested and transferred to an unknown location.
Mohammad Habibi, spokesman of the Teachers’ Professional Association, reported on his personal page the arrests of Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, Asghar Amirzadegan, and Ghahremaan Kiani in Shiraz, Ahmad Heidari, Ahmadi, and Davudi in Tehran, and Jabar Dusti in Marivan.
On Monday, February 1st, following a call by the Coordination Council of Labor Unions of Iranian Educators, working and retired teachers and educators in various cities across the country held protest gatherings in objection to their unaddressed demands.
Yesterday, Shaban Mohammadi, a member of the Kurdistan Teachers’ Professional Association in Marivan, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
