Iran’s Ministry of Health announced the deaths of 43 more coronavirus patients in Iran over a 24-hour period ending Tuesday, December 21st.

According to this report, during the same period, 2,413 new coronavirus cases were identified and 376 of them were hospitalized.

With the inclusion of today’s official statistics, the number of coronavirus victims in Iran reached 131,167 people, and the number of infected people reached 6,175,782.

Two thousand 835 COVID-19 patients are also in critical condition in the intensive care units of hospitals.

Daily coronavirus statistics are being made available to the media while independent sources have serious doubts about their accuracy.

Currently, no cities in Iran are in red or orange status, but 53 cities are in yellow status and 395 cities are in blue status.

Simultaneously with the increase in the number of people infected with the Omicron variant of coronavirus in Iran and the world, medical sources have asked people to be vigilant about the symptoms of this disease and to take seriously the possibility of its widespread transmission.

Among them, Milad Alavi, an infectious disease specialist, has warned about the possibility of this new variant overwhelming Iran.

Arash Roghnei, head of the Medical System Organization in Shahrekord County, referring to the high transmissibility of this new variant, said that “prevention and serious observance of health protocols is the way to confront and control this mutated coronavirus.”

Referring to the entry of this variant into the country, he added that soon other provinces will be involved in the circulation of this virus, and for this reason, eligible individuals should receive the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine so that if they contract this virus, the severity of it will be reduced.
