Suicide Attempt by Teenage Girl in Abadan

On Tuesday, the 2nd of Azar, a 17-year-old girl in Abadan attempted suicide by jumping off a bridge, but police officers prevented her from carrying out the act. According to the Legal Medicine Organization, Iranian teenagers account for more than 7 percent of annual suicides.
According to Hrana news agency, citing Rokna, on Tuesday, the 2nd of Azar 1400, the police chief of Abadan reported an attempted suicide by a 17-year-old girl in the city.
Colonel Hossein Zalqi said in this regard: “Following a phone call to police center 110, a report was received that a 17-year-old girl intended to commit suicide from the roof of City Center Passage.”
Based on this report, the commander of Amir Kabir Police Station 16 immediately rushed to the scene with his forces and quickly reached a position near the 17-year-old girl, discovering that the teenage girl intended to commit suicide and planned to throw herself from the 4th floor of City Center Passage onto the street. At that moment, police officers from Station 16 quickly apprehended the teenage girl and prevented her suicide attempt.
The teenage girl was transferred to the counseling section of the police station. The girl’s family was called to the station, and through counseling it was determined that the girl had attempted suicide due to family problems.
According to the Legal Medicine Organization, Iranian teenagers account for more than 7 percent of annual suicides.
