Iran Accuses International Atomic Energy Agency of Disclosing Confidential Nuclear Information

The spokesman for Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization accused the International Atomic Energy Agency on Wednesday of publishing confidential information and letters related to Iran’s nuclear program.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization, said: “The Agency should not overstep its authorities and responsibilities by releasing information and details of Iran’s technical measures. If this situation continues, we may take steps to remedy the situation.”
In recent months, Iran has limited the activities of the International Atomic Energy Agency following the implementation of a parliamentary resolution.
Based on a December resolution passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly last year, Iran restricted access for Agency inspectors to its nuclear facilities and halted voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol from March 2021.
As part of this measure, the Agency has been denied access to information from surveillance cameras at Iran’s nuclear sites for months.
Last week, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, referring to Tehran’s non-cooperation, warned about repeating North Korea’s scenario and the experience of severing cooperation with the Agency.
Several times international news agencies have published reports based on documents from the International Atomic Energy Agency, information that Iran now considers confidential.
