UN Climate Report on Continued Global Warming Process

The World Meteorological Organization has released a report on atmospheric changes as the Glasgow Climate Conference approaches. According to this report, Earth’s temperature has reached its warmest period in the past seven years since the recording of atmospheric developments began.

The Glasgow Climate Conference begins on November 1st (Aban 10th). In advance of this summit, the World Meteorological Organization released its report.

The report states that the process of rising global temperatures continues. Although 2021 was slightly cooler compared to previous years, experts from the United Nations organization have reported the continuation of the global warming trend.

According to the report, Earth’s temperature at the end of September of this year was more than one degree warmer than the average period of 1850 to 1900. It should be noted that the measurement and recording of Earth’s temperature began in 1850.

In 2016, global temperatures were even 1.2 degrees higher than the aforementioned time period. The years 2019 and 2020 were also recorded overall as warm years.

The World Meteorological Organization’s report indicates that since the recording of Earth’s temperature began, the past seven years have been the warmest years recorded compared to previous years.

The same report also notes that sea levels are also rising. For example, sea levels during the eight-year period from 2013 to 2021 rose 4.4 millimeters every year. This is compared to the time period from 1993 to 2002, when sea levels rose 2.2 millimeters.

The cause of rising sea levels should be sought, among other factors, in the melting of ice mountains as a result of increased global temperatures.
