Prince Reza Pahlavi’s Message Regarding Khuzestan Protests: Each of Us Has a Duty Not to Leave Them Alone

Prince Reza Pahlavi on Monday, July 19, issued a message addressed to “military personnel and compatriots” regarding the Khuzestan protests, stating: “Now that the people of Khuzestan have bravely risen up, each of us has a duty not to leave them alone.”

In this message, while emphasizing adherence to “the important and key principle of avoiding violence,” he stated that “the greatest and most powerful weapon” of opponents of the Islamic Republic is “countless masses” and “solidarity and unity,” saying: “No government has the power to stand against the will of a united nation.”

Prince Reza Pahlavi in this message called Khamenei the “criminal leader of the Islamic Republic” and introduced him as “directly responsible for the unjustly spilled blood in Khuzestan,” who “to preserve the regime” has “ordered the killing of protesting people” and “responds to the people who have come to the streets with empty hands for water, bread, and freedom, with bullets.”

He further addressed Iran’s official military and security forces, saying that their national and humanitarian duty as soldiers of Iran is “defense and protection” of the people. He also, while emphasizing that they have no right to “shoot at people and youth who have come to the streets with empty hands and without violence,” clarified that they are obligated to “defend their innocent and thirsty compatriots against the anti-national regime and its fed mercenaries and oppressive mercenaries.”

Prince Reza Pahlavi also called on these forces to “stand in solidarity with the nation and dignified life.”

Reports and images published on social networks indicate that the widespread protests by people in Khuzestan province continued on the evening of Monday, July 19, for the fifth consecutive night.
