According to Iranian media reports, the fire at the Amirkabir Petrochemical Plant in Bandar Mahshahr has been extinguished. The fire occurred on Wednesday, July 14 (23rd of Tir) in the chemical materials storage warehouse of this petrochemical facility.

IRNA news agency, citing Iran Company’s public relations, reported that this “partial fire” was controlled through the efforts of firefighters from the complex and the special economic zone organization.

According to the public relations of Amirkabir Petrochemical, this incident resulted in no loss of life. No reports have been released regarding the cause of the incident or the extent of potential damages.

According to IRNA reports, the black smoke from this fire was also visible to the naked eye from Bandar Mahshahr.

On Tuesday, July 13, the waste storage warehouse of Tandgooyan Petrochemical in Mahshahr city also caught fire.

In recent months, the number of fires and incidents in Iran’s vital industries has increased.

Explosion in the Shush oil and gas pipeline, widespread fire in the warehouses on Karaj’s special road, fire at Zarand Steel Corporation of Iran, fire at the South Tehran Refinery, and explosion at Sepahan Chemical Industries Company in Isfahan are among the recent incidents.

In most cases, the possibility of sabotage has been ruled out by official authorities, but some security experts believe there is a possibility that these incidents may be intentional in order to strike at Iran’s critical economic situation.
