White House: US Had No Role in Attack on Natanz Nuclear Facility

The US government has stated that the country had no involvement in the attack on the power supply system of the Natanz nuclear facility. Iranian officials have directed accusations regarding the attack on this nuclear facility toward Mossad and Israel.

Two days after the attack on the power supply system of the Natanz nuclear facility, the White House denied reports suggesting possible US involvement in the attack.

“The New York Times” in a report on the Natanz incident attributed responsibility for the attack to Mossad, citing two American and Israeli intelligence sources.

Jen Psaki, White House spokesperson, on Monday, April 12 (April 23 in the Persian calendar), denied any US involvement in the attack on the Natanz nuclear facility in her press briefing.

Reuters news agency published a report from Washington regarding the White House spokesperson’s statement. Jen Psaki also refrained from stating a position regarding Israel’s role in sabotaging the Natanz nuclear facility during her press conference.

She said: “We have nothing to say about speculation regarding the causes of this incident or its consequences.”

Reuters news agency further reported, citing Iranian officials, that Israel was responsible for the attack on the Natanz nuclear facility and referred to it as the latest example of the long and covert conflict between Iran and Israel.

The White House spokesperson also avoided commenting on the potential impact of this attack on the talks of the Joint Commission on the JCPOA in Vienna.

It should be noted that the meeting of political representatives of the relevant countries in the 2015 nuclear agreement is scheduled to continue on Wednesday, April 14 in Vienna.
