Iran Statistics Center Announces Inflation Rate of 45.2% in Mordad Month

The Iran Statistics Center announced on Monday, September 8th, through its latest report that the “national inflation rate in Mordad month reached 45.2%”.

According to this report, “Qom and Tehran respectively had the lowest annual inflation rates at 40.9% and 41.8%, while Ilam had the highest inflation rate at 51.4%”.

Meanwhile, Reza Fatemi Amin, Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade, said on Monday: “We are seriously committed to controlling inflation.”

Fatemi Amin said that to control inflation and regulate the market “we have started meetings with colleagues in other ministries to have control over the flow of production and distribution of goods so that we can predict shortages.”

Ibrahim Raisi last Thursday, in the first cabinet meeting, mentioned ensuring people’s livelihoods as one of his government’s priorities.

In recent months and weeks, numerous guild and labor gatherings have been held in some parts of Iran in protest against poor living conditions.
