Transfer of ‘Gorban Behzadiannezhad’ to Evin Prison to Serve Sentence

‘Gorban Behzadiannezhad’ has been transferred to Evin Prison to serve his prison sentence.
Today, Saturday, April 14, 2024 (25 Farvardin 1403), Gorban Behzadiannezhad was transferred to Evin Prison to serve his one-year prison sentence on charges of propaganda against the state.
Gorban Behzadiannezhad, senior advisor and head of the election campaign headquarters of Mir-Hossein Mousavi, was sentenced to one year in prison in 2020 by the 36th branch of the Tehran Court of Appeals regarding a statement known as the “Statement of 77 People” and on charges of propaganda against the state through participation in a conference for dialogue to save Iran. He also has a history of previous convictions due to his activism.
The court hearing on the charges against this political activist was held in July of last year in the 29th branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. Based on the verdict issued by this branch, he was sentenced to one year in prison.
Finally, today, Saturday, April 14, in order to serve his one-year prison sentence, he was transferred to Evin Prison.
For the Islamic Republic system, it makes no difference whether the accused are from any social class or even former or current government officials. Any individual who protests or opposes the system or declares their opposition is subject to interrogation, arrest, suppression, torture, and various convictions.
