IMF: Iran’s Inflation Rate Will Increase by 2.5 Percent This Year

A new International Monetary Fund report on global economic growth, recently published, states that Iran’s current inflation rate of around 36.5 percent will reach 39 percent by the end of the year. According to a table published in this report, Iran’s inflation was around 36.5 percent in 2020 and will reach 39 percent in 2021. The organization’s assessment for 2022 puts the inflation rate at 27.5 percent.

Iran has witnessed significant inflation growth over the past decade.

The IMF report also references Iran’s unemployment rate, stating that the unemployment rate of 10.8 percent last year will rise to 11.2 percent this year and reach 11.7 percent in the next calendar year.
