Forced Marriage; 18-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide in Yasuj

On Saturday, the 4th of Bahman, an 18-year-old young woman residing in Yasuj committed suicide by hanging in protest against forced marriage, losing her life.
According to Hrana news agency, the news organization of human rights activists in Iran, on Saturday, the 4th of Bahman 1399, a young woman residing in Sarabkhaneh located in Yasuj city committed suicide and lost her life.
The identity of this citizen “Anahita Shahidi,” 18 years old and a resident of Sepidsar township under the jurisdiction of Boyerahmad, has been confirmed by Hrana.
According to an informed source; Ms. Shahidi, in protest against a forced marriage to her cousin that had been arranged for her, while she was alone at home, committed suicide by hanging and lost her life.
