Morteza Damour, father of Vahid Damour, one of the victims of the November 2019 protests, without naming Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, holds him responsible for the death of the protesters and says that the same person who said I support the decision of the three branches has issued the order to massacre the protesters.,
Mr. Damour, who is a war veteran of the Iran-Iraq War, in an interview with Masih Alinejad, presenter and commentator of the Voice of America tablet program, protesting against labeling his son and other protesters as rioters, considers their protest against gasoline prices justified and says the answer to protest is not bullets.
He says he has a message for the Iranian people, and that is despair over improving the current situation.
Vahid Damour was shot and killed during the November 2019 protests in Farydis, Karaj.
The 2019 protests began on Friday, November 15, with the sudden announcement of a gasoline price increase in various Iranian cities, and with severe crackdowns and direct shooting by security forces at protesters, the protests took on a different character, and the slogans of the protesters were directed at the senior officials of the Islamic Republic.
