Arrest of Protesting Citizen in Karaj by Security Forces

At noon on Thursday, the 14th of Esfand 1399, a citizen protesting against events in Sistan and Baluchestan was arrested by security forces at Talghani Square in Karaj. A video released on social media shows that the arrest of this citizen by military and plainclothes officers was met with the protests of people present at the scene, and an officer, without facing any violence or threat, in violation of weapons use laws and solely for intimidation purposes, opened fire into the air in a busy urban area.
According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the Human Rights Activists in Iran network, on Thursday the 14th of Esfand 1399, a citizen was arrested by security forces at Talghani Square in Karaj.
A video from the scene of protest and arrest of this citizen has been released on social media showing that military and plainclothes officers faced the protests of people present at the scene following the arrest. However, after this citizen was released by the people, he was arrested again by security forces.
In this video, an officer, without facing any violence or threat, in violation of weapons use laws and solely for intimidation of those present, opened fire into the air in a busy urban area.
At noon today, a video of this citizen’s protest at Talghani Square in Karaj, where he stood on a charity box, expressing opposition to the shooting and killing of fuel tanker drivers and protesting citizens in Sistan and Baluchestan province, received reactions from many users.
