Number of Detained Kurdish Activists Reaches 69

With the arrest of two Kurdish citizens in the cities of Boukan and Sanandaj, the number of Kurdish activists detained over the past 16 days by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and other security agencies has reached 69.
The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, which covers human rights news in Kurdish-populated areas, identified the two citizens as “Sardar Mohammadpour” and “Sirwan Amini,” stating that security forces “arrested and transferred” these two individuals “to an unknown location.”
According to the organization’s report, over the past two weeks, a total of 74 Kurdish citizens in 14 cities, including Tehran, Karaj, Kermanshah, and Sanandaj, were arrested, though 5 of them were released after some time.
To date, the charges against these individuals, who according to published reports were mostly arrested without court orders by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, have not been disclosed, and official judicial and security authorities have remained silent on these reports.
Meanwhile, 50 civil activists from Kurdistan issued a statement, noting that the widespread arrests have “doubled concerns,” stating that families “have no information about the detention location” of these individuals, and calling for “an end to this situation and the release of the detainees.”
