Suicide of ‘Reza,’ Child Laborer Featured on ‘Honeymoon Month’ Program

Reza, a teenager approximately 18 years old whose statements had gained widespread attention years ago on the television program ‘Honeymoon Month,’ took his own life. This working child, in response to a question from the program’s host who asked “What is your wish?”, had said “I was working from morning to night and didn’t have time to think about my dreams.” The share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides has been reported by the Forensic Medicine Organization at over 7 percent.

According to HRANA news agency, citing Jamaran, today Monday, December 15, 1399 (in the Persian calendar), Reza, a teenager approximately 18 years old, took his own life.

The Instagram page of the Iranian House of the Borderline (supporting working children) posted an image of Reza, the child who became known through his appearance on the ‘Honeymoon Month’ program, and wrote: We deeply regret to announce the passing of one of the young members of the Iranian House of the Borderline.

Reza’s statements, made years ago on the television program ‘Honeymoon Month,’ had drawn significant attention. This working child, in response to a question from the program’s host who asked “What is your wish?”, had said “I was working from morning to night and didn’t have time to think about my dreams.”

The report made no mention of the reasons or motives behind Reza’s suicide.

The share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides has been reported by the Forensic Medicine Organization at over 7 percent.
