Health Ministry Deputy Predicts: Number of Corona Victims in Khordad Will Reach 200 Per Day

Iraj Harirchi, Deputy Minister of Health, has stated that forecasts regarding coronavirus deaths in Iran have changed and “approximately 200 daily deaths are predicted for the month of Khordad”.
According to ILNA news agency, he cited occasions such as Nowruz holidays and increased visits as factors for “a very significant increase in the number of infected and deaths”.
Currently, based on official statistics announced by the Ministry of Health, 80 to 100 people die from coronavirus daily.
The prediction of a possible doubling of coronavirus-related deaths by the Deputy Minister of Health comes at a time when the Health Minister has repeatedly reported the success of his ministry in combating this disease.
Hassan Rouhani, President of Iran, also praised his government’s approach to combating coronavirus, stating that Iran’s measures could serve as a source for university textbooks.
