Continuation of Passport Confiscation and Travel Ban for Parents of Ramin Hossein Panahi

According to Amjad Hossein Panahi, brother of executed political prisoner Ramin Hossein Panahi, the passports of his parents remain confiscated by order of the Ministry of Intelligence. He stated that in follow-up inquiries, they were told they have been banned from leaving the country for a period of 5 years. Last August, the passports of these citizens were confiscated by order of the Sanandaj Intelligence Office.

According to Hrana news agency, citing Kurdpa, Mohammad Hossein Panahi and Sharafat Zarini (known as Aunt Sharife), the parents of executed political prisoner Ramin Hossein Panahi, have been banned from leaving the country by order of the Ministry of Intelligence.

Amjad Hossein Panahi, brother of Ramin Hossein Panahi, announced this news saying: “Yesterday, my parents went to the relevant office to retrieve their passports which were confiscated last year. There they were informed that not only will their passports not be returned by order of the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, but according to a new order, you are banned from leaving the country for five years.”

Last August, the passports of Ramin Hossein Panahi’s parents were confiscated by order of the Sanandaj Intelligence Office.

Previously, in April 2020, Parvane Hossein Panahi, sister of Ramin Hossein Panahi, was summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office and interrogated. It is said that the reason for her summons was related to inquiries about the burial location of her brother Ramin Hossein Panahi.

On Saturday, September 17, 2018, “Ramin Hossein Panahi” along with two other political prisoners named “Zanyar Moradi” and “Loghman Moradi” were executed, and his burial location has not been determined to date.
