US Attorney General: We have not observed fraud at a level that could change election results

William Barr, the US Attorney General, says that to date, no evidence of widespread violations in the US presidential election that would affect its final outcome has been observed.

The US Attorney General said on Tuesday, December 1st, to the Associated Press: We have not observed fraud at a level that could change election results to date.

He added: Federal prosecutors and the FBI are investigating complaints filed about election violations, and based on the information they have received, they have found no evidence that would change the election results.

American media announced several days after the November 3rd election (November 24th) that Joe Biden achieved the threshold of 270 electoral votes, which is required to win the presidential election.

The official election certification process takes several weeks. To date, some key states including Georgia and Arizona, whose governors are Republicans, have formally confirmed Joe Biden’s victory. However, President Trump has so far refrained from accepting his defeat and is pursuing legal challenges to election results in several states.

The power transition process began on November 23rd when President Trump wrote on his Twitter: “In the best interest of the country,” he asked the General Services Administration as well as his own administration to carry out the initial power transition protocols.

The new US President will formally begin his work on January 20th, after the inauguration ceremony.
