Behnam Mousivand, an imprisoned civil activist, was transferred on Wednesday, September 26th to Hall 10 of Ward 4 of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj after 10 days of detention in one of the solitary cells of the security ward, following a negative coronavirus test result and full recovery.

According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the Iranian Human Rights Activists collective, on Wednesday, September 26th, 1399, Behnam Mousivand, an imprisoned civil activist, was transferred from the security ward to Ward 4 of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj.

Mr. Mousivand’s transfer to Hall 10 of Ward 4 of this prison took place after his latest coronavirus test came back negative and his complete recovery.

Behnam Mousivand was previously transferred on September 8th, 1399, while serving his sentence in Evin Prison, to Evin Prison’s medical ward due to symptoms of coronavirus infection including severe fever and chills and loss of smell and taste. Mr. Mousivand went on a hunger strike starting September 10th following his transfer from Evin Prison to the solitary cells of the security ward of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj, and on September 15th, coinciding with his transfer to Ward 10 of this prison, he ended his strike. This imprisoned civil activist was again transferred to solitary confinement on September 17th under the pretext of testing positive for coronavirus.

Pursuant to Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the harsher sentence of five years imprisonment for the charge of “assembly and conspiracy to act against the country’s security” is enforceable against him. Mr. Mousivand was ultimately arrested on June 25th after appearing at the enforcement unit of Evin Prosecutor’s Office and transferred to prison to serve his sentence.
