Armed Attack by “Jaish Al-Adl” on Revolutionary Guards Vehicle in Baluchestan

According to the IRNA news agency, the Sunni sect group “Jaish Al-Adl” has attacked a Revolutionary Guards vehicle. According to the Revolutionary Guards, the vehicle belonged to an engineering unit and during the operation one person was wounded and another person went missing.

According to news agencies, armed members of the “Jaish Al-Adl” group attacked Revolutionary Guards patrol vehicles in the Kashtgan area of Bampusht city.

Mohammadi Hadi Mareshi, the security and administrative deputy of the Sistan and Baluchestan governor, announced on Tuesday, March 3rd, that “a vehicle carrying personnel from the Revolutionary Guards engineering unit” was attacked.

The Baluchestan deputy governor attributed the attack to the “Jaish Al-Adl” group.

The public relations and propaganda office of the Quds Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards Ground Forces also confirmed that in the attack on Revolutionary Guards engineering forces in Bampusht, one “engineering staff member” was wounded and one person is missing.

On the other hand, a news channel called “Baluchestan Monitoring” based on a statement attributed to “Jaish Al-Adl” states that armed members attacked two vehicles. In the armed clash, one vehicle was destroyed and “another vehicle along with its occupants was taken hostage by the group.”

According to the same report, in the confrontation “5 Revolutionary Guards members were killed and three others were taken hostage.”

In recent days, Saravan and its surroundings witnessed widespread unrest following the killing of several fuel carriers in the area by Islamic Republic forces, which was followed by protests.

“Jaish Al-Adl” is an armed group that operates under the slogan of defending the rights of Baluchestan people in southeastern Iran. The Islamic Republic considers this Sunni sect group as separatist and calls it “Jaish Al-Zulm.”

Iran also accuses its regional rival Saudi Arabia of supporting Sunni separatist groups such as “Jaish Al-Adl.” Saudi Arabia, however, has always denied this accusation.
