Wife of Charmine Memandinezhad Reports 21 Days Without News of Imprisoned Social Activist

The wife of the founder of Imam Ali Society says she has had no information about the status of Charmine Memandinezhad for over twenty days.
Zahra Rahimi, by publishing the text of a letter addressed to the prosecutor of branch 2 of Evin Courthouse, has requested information about the condition of her husband and written that killing is not only through direct shooting, but lack of news from loved ones is also a form of killing.
Ms. Rahimi, who manages the Imam Ali Society and was herself detained for two days, wrote in this letter that during 108 days of Mr. Memandinezhad’s detention, she has managed to visit him only once.
The Imam Ali Society, which began operations in 1999, is one of the most well-known charitable organizations in Iran, with thousands of people voluntarily cooperating with it.
Civil activists and human rights advocates within Iran, as well as international bodies including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, have called for the release of Charmine Memandinezhad.
