Mohammad Shabahati, Tehran University Student, Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison

Mohammad Shabahati, a student activist at Tehran University, has been sentenced in absentia to five years imprisonment. However, no summons or notification has been sent to this citizen, and the entire investigation and sentencing process has taken place without his knowledge or presence.
According to Hrana news agency, citing the channel of student syndicates councils of the country, Mohammad Shabahati, a student activist at Tehran University, has been sentenced to five years imprisonment.
Based on this report, following the blocking of one of this activist’s bank cards by an ATM and his inquiry into the reason through the bank, it was revealed that a letter was sent from the Office of Execution of Court Decisions Shahid Moghaddas (Evin Prison Execution Office) on September 22 to banks to block all of his accounts. Finally, following the activist’s lawyer’s visit to the Evin Execution Office, the sentence of 5 years imprisonment was verbally communicated to the lawyer.
The charge against this citizen was conspiracy and collusion with the intention to act against national security. However, since the entire investigation process including the charge notification, indictment issuance, court hearing, and sentencing has been conducted without this student’s knowledge and entirely in absentia, and is currently in the enforcement stage, no details and specifics of the issued sentence are available.
