US Calls for Immediate Release of Prisoners of Conscience: Free Nasrin Sotoudeh, Morad Tahbaz, and Mohammad Hossein Sepahri

Morgan Ortagus, spokesperson for the US State Department, called for the release of political prisoners in Iran who are at risk of contracting COVID-19 virus.
Ms. Ortagus said on Monday, April 20, in a Twitter message: “We also join [the UN High Commissioner for] Human Rights in calling on Iran to immediately release all prisoners of conscience who are at risk of contracting COVID-19 disease.”
The US State Department spokesperson said in this message: “We specifically call for the release of Morad Tahbaz, an environmental activist, Nasrin Sotoudeh, a lawyer, and Mohammad Hossein Sepahri, an activist. They want to help the people of Iran. Release them.”
