44% of Households Do Not Own Homes

According to official statistics from Iran’s Statistical Center, by December of the current year, the average price per square meter of residential units in Tehran has been reported at approximately 13 million and 810 thousand tomans, which represents a 2.1% increase compared to the previous month, November of the current year, and a 40.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Based on statistics from this center, the highest average price of 30 million and 160 thousand tomans per square meter was recorded in Tehran’s District One.
According to the latest statistics, currently 31% of households residing in Iran are renters. Based on this statistic, 51% of renter households are located in Tehran Province, and 44% of households residing in the capital do not own homes.
