Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Workers Declare Solidarity with Commemoration Ceremony for the Killed: ‘December 26th is a Historic Day!’

The independent channel of Haft Tappeh workers published a statement on Friday morning, December 26th, calling this day “a day of our legitimate protests for equality and freedom.”

In a solidarity statement by Haft Tappeh sugar cane workers published on the workers’ independent channel, the 26th of November of the current year has been described as “one of the most important days in Iran’s history.”

The statement reads: “On December 26th, in remembrance and commemoration of over a thousand lives lost in the legitimate November 2019 protests, the entire country is witnessing a new wave of protest.”

The statement’s authors have emphasized that the commemoration of those who died in November protests is “only properly and fittingly honored if the path of equality-seeking and freedom-seeking is pursued with renewed determination and the flag of struggle for equality and freedom is raised higher.”

The statement’s authors concluded: “December 26th will be one of the effective and memorable days in the history of struggle in our country. This day is an important day among all days of struggle by workers, laborers, and wage earners, and a common day of our legitimate protests for equality and freedom.”
