According to Kalam website, more than 140 people have lost their lives in recent protests in Iran in the provinces of Kermanshah, Kurdistan, and West Azerbaijan.

Kalam website announced on Thursday, December 5, that based on verified reliable information from Kalam website sources, following the crackdown on recent popular protests in Iran, a total of 140 people were killed by direct gunfire from military and security forces.

According to this report, 70 people were killed in Kermanshah, 40 in Marivan, 25 in Javanroud, and 5 others in Boukan as a result of bullet wounds.

Kalam website holds parliamentary representatives and the judiciary responsible for investigating violations and filing charges against military personnel and plainclothes individuals who opened direct fire on people. Islamic Republic officials, as in the past, have claimed that protesters fired at people. However, this time videos and documents show that their claims are false.

Previously, Amnesty International in its latest report on the suppression of public protests in November stated that according to credible reports received by the organization, at least 208 people were killed in these protests, and the actual number of deaths is likely higher than this.

Following a sudden increase in gasoline prices, Iran witnessed widespread public protests against the Islamic Republic. On Friday, November 15, after the sudden announcement of gasoline price hikes, protests took place in various Iranian cities, and just one day after the start of the protests, the Islamic Republic cut off the internet almost completely on Saturday night, November 16.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday, December 3, again reacted to the Iranian government’s handling of protesting people and said on the sidelines of a NATO leaders summit: It is very unfortunate that protesters in Iran were killed simply because they protested.

The U.S. President referred several times on the sidelines of this gathering to the issue of Iranian protesters and American support for the Iranian people, saying: Protesters in Iran are seeking freedom and we fully support them.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also on Monday, December 2, in remarks at Lowell University (Louisville) while acknowledging the domestic causes of protests in some Middle Eastern countries, also referred to the role of the Islamic Republic in these countries and said that the Iranian regime is a common factor behind all regional protests.
