U.S. Transportation Safety Administration Joins Airplane Crash Investigation

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board announced Thursday night that it will join the investigation into the crash of a passenger aircraft in Iran.
Hours earlier, an official from Iran’s civil aviation organization reported that the American agency, along with other countries such as Canada and Ukraine, has been invited to examine the evidence and documentation.
This federal agency in the United States operates in the field of investigating accidents in the transportation sector and has now formally announced that it has appointed a representative to participate in the case of the Ukrainian aircraft that crashed in Tehran.
A Boeing 737-800 aircraft that departed from Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran on Wednesday morning, December 18, destined for Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, caught fire minutes after takeoff and crashed in Sabashahr, a suburb of Shahr-e Rey district.
The aircraft had 167 passengers and 9 crew members, all of whom lost their lives in this tragedy.
