Escalation of War of Words Between Iran and America in Shadow of Military Threats

Commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have spoken of military strength and declared that America and its allies “do not dare fire even a single bullet at Iran.” The speaker of parliament has considered the destruction of an American drone as a sign of readiness to counter any “aggression.”

The war of words between Iranian and American officials has intensified. Donald Trump has stated that a war against Iran, if it occurs, will not be prolonged and there would be no need for ground forces to advance it.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has also claimed that it possesses such military strength that no one would think of attacking Iran. Regional allies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, have also assessed the consequences and costs of attacking Iran for America as very heavy.

Despite these threats, both countries have stated they do not want war. Trump has repeatedly said he is ready to meet and hold talks with Hassan Rouhani or Ayatollah Khamenei.

News website Khabaronline reported on Thursday, the sixth of Tir (June 27), quoting Ali Fadavi, deputy commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guard: “The military strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran has caused America and its allies to not dare fire even a single bullet at Iran.”

Important Missions of the Revolutionary Guard

Fadavi spoke of five areas of activity of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to neutralize the actions of forces opposing Iran at the regional and global level.

The deputy commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guard described activity in these five areas as “the most important missions” of the Revolutionary Guard. These five areas, according to Fadavi’s statements, include: “Confronting hard threats, semi-hard threats, soft war, domestic sphere and foreign sphere.”

Fadavi claimed that military strength has practically reduced the dangers arising from “hard threats.” He said: “Despite the passage of more than 30 years since the end of the war and despite the fact that no one has dared to fire at our country during this period, the aspect of hard threats has continued, but in this sphere the enemy has not dared to do anything, but in the other four spheres the enemy is constantly active day and night.”

Aliresa Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, also referring to the downing of an American drone in an interview with ILNA news agency, said: “We hope our enemies have learned a lesson from the recent incident and understand the fact that we have no tolerance in the path of safeguarding the maritime, aerial and land territories of Islamic Iran and we will respond with decisiveness to any threat and aggression.”

Ali Larijani, speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, has also announced that Iran will counter any aggression. Larijani said: “If any small or large country commits aggression against Iran, we have no reservations in countering it and as we demonstrated in eight years of sacred defense, we will deal with the aggressor and all countries must pay attention to the military strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Reaction of Iran’s Allies in the Region

Allies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, including forces affiliated with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, have repeatedly reacted in recent days to the military threat to Iran from America.

Naim Qassem, deputy leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, said that America, for various reasons including due to the “high defensive capacity” of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has no inclination to attack this country.

Naim Qassem, in an interview with Lebanese newspaper “Jumhuriyya,” said that starting a war against Iran would bring no benefit to Trump and the American government. He emphasized that Trump could be the initiator of war, but controlling this war would not be in America’s hands and this war could set the entire region ablaze.
