Oil Price Rises Following Iran’s Attack on American Drone

Global oil prices rose on Thursday, June 20, following the targeting of an American drone by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The United States says the Islamic Republic of Iran attacked the drone in international airspace.

According to Bloomberg, the price of crude oil per barrel of Brent rose by approximately 4 percent on Thursday and traded at $65 per barrel.

A significant portion of the world’s consumed oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran, which has recently experienced increased tensions.
