The Campaign to Defend Political and Civil Prisoners reported on Wednesday, June 8, that Hossein Salami, a member of the Teachers’ Trade Union of Mazandaran province, was arrested on Tuesday, June 7, after a bail was issued by the court clerk handling his case, and due to the family’s inability to deposit a property deed as collateral during working hours, he was transferred to a detention center.
According to the report, on April 12, security personnel and plainclothes officers visited Hossein Salami’s residence and, upon presenting an order from Branch Two of the Sari Court, conducted a search of the home of this trade unionist, confiscated personal items including a mobile phone, laptop, and computer, summoned him to the security police, and interrogated him.
Based on available information, the interrogation conducted was related to his presence at gatherings and encouraging other teachers to protest; this trade unionist was released after interrogation without receiving any bail or surety, and it was announced by the relevant security agency that during the following week, after receiving an electronic summons, he must report to the relevant branch.
