Construction Workers in Baneh City, Kurdistan Province Hold Rally

A group of construction workers in Baneh city in Kurdistan Province gathered in front of the Labor and Social Security Office in protest against an increase in their insurance contributions.
These workers carried placards reading “Social Justice” and also protested against the insurance contribution increase as well as unemployment conditions.
ILNA news agency reported on Wednesday, Ordibehesht 4, that the protesting workers are demanding a return to the insurance contribution rates that existed before 1396 (2017). They stated that under current unemployment conditions, the increase in insurance contributions is unfair.
Economic protests in Iran have increased over the past two years as prices have risen and economic problems have grown.
