European Union Adds Two Iranians to Terrorist Designation List

The European Union announced on Wednesday, December 19, through an official statement that it has added two Iranian citizens to its list of individuals and terrorist groups, including the official responsible for the internal security affairs of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence.

The reason for this designation was their involvement in attempted attacks on European soil, including in France and Denmark, which failed. The foreign minister of the Netherlands had previously accused Iran of involvement in two murders that occurred in that country.

Yesterday, the foreign ministers of the European Union agreed to place the internal security affairs office of the Ministry of Intelligence, along with Saeid Hashemi Moghaddam, a member of that ministry, and Asadollah Asadi, an Iranian diplomat in Austria, on the list of individuals and terrorist groups.
