Nasrin Sotoudeh Files Complaint Against Judge Moghisseh with Judiciary’s Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office

Payam Derafshan, lawyer for Nasrin Sotoudeh, announced that on behalf of his client, he has filed a complaint against Judge Mohammad Moghisseh, head of Branch 28 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, with the Judiciary’s Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office for Judges.

Mr. Derafshan stated on Sunday, the 8th of Mehr, that the reasons for his client’s complaint against Ms. Sotoudeh’s case judge include “issuing a verdict outside the scope of the indictment, failure to maintain impartiality, unlawful detention, and multiple violations.”

According to available reports, Ms. Nasrin Sotoudeh has been in poor physical condition since the third day of Shahrivar while on a hunger strike.

Previously, the U.S. State Department expressed concern about Ms. Sotoudeh’s condition and called for her immediate release from prison. It also expressed concerns regarding the arrest and imprisonment of Reza Khandan, Ms. Sotoudeh’s husband.
