President Trump Says Islamic Republic Fighting for Its Survival

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, on Tuesday evening in Iowa, during another campaign rally held to garner support for Republican candidates, once again referred to Iran.
In listing the achievements of American foreign policy, he said: “Look at Iran, before I was in the White House, Iran was taking over the Middle East in twelve minutes. But now they are fighting for their survival. There are riots in every city.”
Reports of strikes and popular protests in Iran’s major and minor cities over recent months have dominated headlines. The main demands of the people have been improvements in living conditions.
With the approaching reimposition of American sanctions being realized through Washington’s withdrawal from the JCPOA, the value of the rial against foreign currencies has declined sharply.
President Trump also on Tuesday, during a session accepting the resignation of Nikki Haley, his administration’s first ambassador to the United Nations, referred to his government’s foreign policy achievements, with the withdrawal from the JCPOA being one of them.
He said: “Iran was another problem we faced when we first arrived at the White House. They were taking over the entire Middle East. Now Iranian officials are scrambling to save themselves. They face riots in their cities every day. Inflation is exploding. Their economy is collapsing. Eventually one day they will come to us to reach a real deal. And not the stupid deal they signed. That deal was unacceptable to me. We have to see what happens. Now there is a difference between Iran then and Iran now.”
In his Iran strategy framework, President Trump is seeking an agreement that would block all pathways for the Islamic Republic to obtain nuclear weapons and would also prevent Tehran’s officials from interfering in the internal affairs of Middle Eastern Arab countries and from repeated threats to Israel.
Americans, on November 6th, mid-November, will vote to elect House legislators and one-third of Senate members.
President Trump is asking the American people to vote for Republican candidates in congressional elections to continue his administration’s domestic and foreign policies.
