Civil activist Nader Afshari detained “in safe house of Ministry of Intelligence”

Reports indicate that Nader Afshari, a civil activist who went missing in Karaj, has been detained by the Ministry of Intelligence.

Nader Afshari’s mother said to several news websites on Tuesday, the 16th of Mordad, that after three days of searching, she was informed that her son is in the custody of the Ministry of Intelligence.

The Ministry of Intelligence and security organizations initially denied Nader Afshari’s detention, but after six days it became clear that he was detained as a “rioter.”

Ms. Afshari says her son is not a rioter, but rather is protesting the conditions, and his protest is completely lawful.

The Ministry of Intelligence told Ms. Afshari that her son is detained in a safe house.

Nader Afshari was detained by the Ministry of Intelligence in Bahman last year on charges of propaganda against the system, spent some time in solitary confinement, and was released on a 100 million toman bail.
