Over 80 Injured Following 4.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Yasuj

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale struck Yasuj, Sisikhte, and Chitab in the early morning of Monday, May 17 (May 7). The earthquake has so far left 82 people injured.
At 2:26 AM on Monday, May 17 (May 7), an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale shook the cities of Yasuj, Sisikhte, and Chitab in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.
According to a report from Fararu website, citing the head of the Center for Accidents and Medical Emergencies, 82 people have been injured as a result of this earthquake up to the time of filing this report, with 71 of them treated on an outpatient basis.
Apparently, some of these injured people were hurt due to panic and rushing to flee their homes.
The epicenter of the earthquake was reported at a depth of five kilometers below ground and six kilometers from Chitab.
Last Wednesday, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale also struck the same region, causing more than 100 people to be injured.
