Poor condition of Christian convert Amin Afshar Naderi on ninth day of hunger strike

The Center for Support of Political and Conscience Activists: Amin Afshar Naderi, a Christian convert imprisoned in Ward 4 of Evin Prison, is in poor condition as he approaches the ninth day of his hunger strike.

Amin Afshar Naderi, a Christian convert, began a hunger strike on February 5th in protest of his uncertain legal status, and to date, prison officials have shown no response to his demands.

During this prisoner of conscience’s latest visit to the prison clinic, his blood pressure was reported at 7/10, and he has lost four kilograms during this period. Amin Afshar Naderi was arrested on Friday, June 26th of this year along with four other Christian converts in a private garden in Firouzkouh on charges of “membership in a home church” and was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.

After three months had passed and his interrogation was completed, he was transferred to Ward 3 of Reformatory Four, Evin Prison, where he continues to be held.
