Islamic State Group Threatens Iran in ‘Persian Language Video’

Reports indicate that the Islamic State group, ISIS, has threatened Iran in an unprecedented move by releasing a video in Persian on Monday, the seventh of Farvardin in the Iranian calendar.
According to France Press Agency, the 36-minute video titled “Land of Persia; From Yesterday to Today” was published on the social media networks of the Islamic State group in Diyala Province in Iraq.
According to this report, a man whose face was covered recited a message addressed to Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The person stated: “O Khamenei, O cursed individual who controls what is called the Islamic Republic, be assured that very soon we will destroy your house over your head.”
France Press Agency also states that in these video images, several prisoners were shown, and one of them had “Ya Hussein” written on his clothing.
Iran is one of the main supporters of the Iraqi government in the fight against the Islamic State group, and this country has provided assistance in organizing Iraqi Shiite militias in the war against ISIS. Iran is also one of the main supporters of the Bashar al-Assad government in Syria’s civil war and has sent forces to that country.
According to France Press Agency, in this video, the Islamic State group accused Iran of suppressing Sunnis in the country for centuries.
One of the men present in this video stated: “We will conquer Iran and return this country to the Sunnis as it was in the past.”
The video also criticized the Iranian government’s leniency toward Jews.
The narrator of this video stated: “Iran chants slogans against America and Israel, but Jews in this country are secure and are protected, and they have their synagogues and places of worship in Isfahan and Tehran.”
Iranian domestic news agencies, including Fars, ILNA, Mehr, and Mizan, have reflected the news of the release of this video by the Islamic State group.
Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force, said in late August of last year that the Islamic State group (ISIS) had recruited some of its forces from Qasr-e Shirin and Naft Shahr.
Both Qasr-e Shirin and Naft Shahr are located in Kermanshah Province and on the border with Iraq.
