Pope Severely Criticizes Donald Trump

Pope Francis, the leader of Catholics worldwide, has sharply criticized Donald Trump, one of the Republican Party candidates in America.
The Pope, on his way back from Mexico to Rome, said that a person who only talks about building walls and not building bridges (for connection) is not a Christian.
Mr. Trump called these remarks “shameful” and added that if at any time forces of the group known as the Islamic State (ISIS) attacked the Vatican, then the Pope would wish and pray that Trump were president.
Mr. Trump had previously stated in remarks that he intends to build a wall along the border between America and Mexico. In other controversial statements, he has called for banning the entry of Muslims into America.
According to a BBC reporter in America, in his election campaign, Mr. Trump is trying to emphasize his religious and Christian credentials, and these comments from the Pope could potentially damage Mr. Trump’s efforts in this regard.
