Washington Ready to Resume Attacks on Islamic Republic as Israel Awaits Trump’s Green Light

While diplomatic efforts to prevent escalation of the crisis between the United States and the Islamic Republic continue, reports published in Israeli and American media outlets indicate military readiness of the two allies to resume attacks against Iran. Israeli sources say Tel Aviv is ready to launch military operations once again, but has tied the final decision to the approval of US President Donald Trump.

State broadcaster Kan 11 reported that several Israeli officials are seeking to resume military operations against the Islamic Republic and, if Donald Trump approves, Israel would be ready to participate in a new round of attacks. The report also states that Israeli officials assess there remains a possibility of continued military confrontation between the United States and Iran in the coming days.

In this regard, the New York Post reported, citing an informed source in Jerusalem, that Israel is interested in participating in any potential future attack and resuming the war completely. This unnamed source said: “If necessary, we will do this again.” He also added: “If this is the price we have to pay, we will manage under these circumstances.”

On the other hand, American officials have also emphasized that while diplomacy is currently Washington’s main priority, the military option remains on the table. According to an American official, the United States intentionally halted operations after conducting limited strikes to prevent escalation of the conflict and provide an opportunity for negotiations, but simultaneously has kept a list of potential targets ready to increase pressure on the Islamic Republic.

CNN also reported, citing several American officials, that all necessary preparations for potential attacks have been made and American forces in the region are in a state of full readiness. A correspondent from the network reported from aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier that fighter jets are equipped with weapons and pilots are conducting operational exercises around the clock. The commander of this carrier has also informed his forces that conditions have become “more sensitive” and everyone must maintain full readiness.

American officials have also rejected claims by the Islamic Republic about conducting new American attacks on Thursday, but have emphasized that regional conditions are changing rapidly and, if necessary, military operations could resume in a short timeframe.

Analysts believe the coincidence of these reports from American and Israeli media carries a clear message for Tehran: while the path of diplomacy remains open, the military option has not only not been abandoned, but American and Israeli forces are on full alert for its potential implementation. From observers’ perspective, this situation can increase pressure on the Islamic Republic in potential negotiations while simultaneously maintaining the risk of a swift return of military tensions in the region.
