Reza Pahlavi: Make Iran’s Freedom a Central Issue in America’s November Elections

Reza Pahlavi, in a message addressed to Iranians residing in America and American citizens, called on them to participate in November’s elections and, when casting their votes, to consider the candidates’ positions regarding the Islamic Republic and Iran’s future. He emphasized that Iran’s freedom is important not only for the Iranian people, but also for global security, economic stability, and worldwide interests.
Reza Pahlavi, in a message released on the eve of America’s elections, attempted to establish a connection between Iran’s political future and issues such as regional security, energy markets, fuel prices, and maritime route security. Pointing to the role of Iranian-Americans in fields such as commerce, medicine, science, and education, he called on them to participate in the November elections of the United States and to question electoral candidates about their approach toward the Islamic Republic.
This call comes ahead of the midterm elections for the U.S. Congress on November 3, 2026; elections being held amid regional tensions and concerns about maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the global energy market. Pahlavi claimed in his message that the policies of the Islamic Republic and its actions in the region affect not only the Iranian people but also American security and economy.
He also emphasized that his audience should not focus solely on the party affiliation of candidates, but should question representatives from both Republican and Democratic parties about their stance toward Iran’s government. The main thrust of his message is that the Iran issue should have a clear place in assessing candidates’ foreign policy positions.
Pahlavi, in another section of his message, identified the Islamic Republic as the main cause of existing crises and called for the end of the current system. This stance reflects his political view on Iran’s future; a perspective in which a change in the power structure in Tehran is linked to the prospect of establishing more normalized relations with America and creating stability in the region.
Prince Reza Pahlavi wrote in his message to Iranians living in America:
“For nearly half a century, Iranian-Americans have contributed to the progress and strengthening of this country through their roles in commerce, medicine, science, and education.
Today, I urge my Iranian compatriots in America and every American who values freedom, peace, stability, and economic security to cast your votes in November’s elections by going to the polling stations, and when voting, to make Iran’s freedom a central issue; because a free Iran benefits everyone.
It benefits the people of Iran, a people who deserve to live with dignity, speak freely, and fearlessly choose their own leaders.
It benefits the world, because for more than four decades, the Islamic Republic has armed militia groups and financed terrorism, destabilizing neighboring countries. This regime’s actions have claimed countless innocent lives and spread violence, chaos, and insecurity throughout the Middle East, Europe, and beyond.
A free Iran also benefits the American people. Today, the disruptive actions of the Islamic Republic in the Strait of Hormuz have brought economic pressure to American gas pumps and grocery stores. A free Iran means safe and open sea lanes, more stable energy markets, and a nation of 90 million that, instead of threatening America, will be ready for trade and cooperation with it. With a regime whose leaders chant “Death to America,” sustainable peace and stability are impossible.
For this reason, I urge you to vote and encourage your family and friends to do the same. Ask every candidate, whether Republican or Democrat, whether they understand that the problem is the Islamic Republic regime itself.
When voting, consider which side each candidate stands on: with the Iranian people or with their oppressors.
The Islamic Republic is not the solution to this crisis; it is the root of the crisis itself. The only lasting solution is to eliminate this root, that is, the regime itself.
Long live Iran, Reza Pahlavi”
This message demonstrates Reza Pahlavi’s effort to place the Iran issue at the center of American foreign policy discussions. Linking Iran’s freedom to America’s economic security could attract audiences who may view Iranian issues primarily as something remote from their daily lives; especially when discussing energy prices and the security of oil transfer routes.
However, the claims made about the Islamic Republic’s role in regional crises and its impact on America’s economy should be evaluated alongside independent evidence and actual developments. Furthermore, a change in government by itself does not guarantee democracy, stability, or economic improvement; achieving such goals will depend on accountable institutions, rule of law, guarantees of citizens’ rights, and the possibility for the Iranian people to freely choose their political system.
Another important point is that American elections are, in the first place, a decision by American voters about representatives and policies for their own country. Pahlavi’s call seeks to factor the Iran issue into these calculations as well, but what policies candidates pursue and how voters decide will ultimately depend on their own positions, programs, and assessments.
Ultimately, Reza Pahlavi’s message is a clear political call: he wants Iran’s future not to be overlooked in American electoral debates. The impact of this call will depend on voters’ response, candidates’ positions, and the ability of various political movements to present clear and measurable programs regarding Iran.
