Amin and Arman Ansarifar released from Behbahan Prison on bail

HRANA News Agency – Amin and Arman Ansarifar, father and brother of Farzad Ansarifar, a victim of the November 2019 protests, were released from Behbahan Prison on Wednesday, March 15, after posting bail pending the completion of the trial. Amin Ansarifar and his son Arman Ansarifar were arrested on February 20 and March 1 and were eventually transferred to Behbahan Prison.
According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, today, Wednesday, March 15, 2021, Amin and Arman Ansarifar, father and brother of Farzad Ansarifar, a victim of the November 2019 protests, were released from Behbahan Prison.
These citizens have been temporarily released on bail of 150 million Tomans until the end of the proceedings.
On Monday, March 13, the court session to hear their charges was held in Branch 1 of the Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Seyyed Mehran Mehman Nawaz, on the charge of propaganda against the regime, via video conference, with the presence of their defense attorney, Fereshteh Tabanian. Yesterday, it was agreed to release these citizens on bail.
On February 20, Amin Ansarifar was arrested after going to the Behbahan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office and transferred to the prison in the city. Arman Ansarifar was also arrested by intelligence officers at his home on Sunday, February 2, and was first transferred to the detention center of this security institution and finally to Behbahan prison. According to an informed source, Arman Ansarifar was charged with "propaganda against the system" and these citizens had been deprived of the right to visit their families until now. Previously, their indictment had been referred to the Bandmahshahr Revolutionary Court by Branch 4 of the Behbahan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, headed by Judge Kazem Tayeb.
Amin Ansarifar was previously summoned to Branch 4 of the Behbahan City Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, headed by Judge Kazem Tayeb, to defend himself on charges related to the charges. The charge against him is "propaganda in favor of groups or organizations opposed to the Islamic Republic."
In addition, Arman Ansarifar was summoned to the Fourth Investigation Branch of the Behbahan Prosecutor's Office on December 13 of this year through a notice.
During the November 2019 protests in Behbahan, a number of citizens living in the city, including Mehrdad Dashtini, Mahmoud Dashtini, Farzad Ansarifar, Mohammad Hossein Qanavati, Ehsan Abdullahnejad, and Mohammad Hashemdar, were killed by security forces. HRANA also reported on November 20, 2019, that Branch 102 of the Criminal Court of the Two Counties of Behbahan had issued sentences of 109 years in prison and 2,590 lashes for 36 people arrested during the November protests in Behbahan.
