Mohsen Haji Mirzaei's criticism of the one-dimensionality of Islamic education

Former Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaei criticized the one-dimensional nature of education in the Islamic system.

Over the past 45 years, since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the atmosphere of schools and universities in the spread of the ideology of the Islamic Republic has been one of the policies of the Education and Training Organization. In all these years, education has been monopolized by the government, and monopolized education has been imposed on the educational system, so that by creating the Education Department, mobilizing students, sending students to schools, forming mobilization circles, and famous leaders in schools, it has tried to control the minds of students and teachers. As a result of these actions, the atmosphere of schools and universities became ideological and politicized, and students had to participate in political, ideological, and religious ceremonies.

After years passed and the start of nationwide protests that led to the popular revolution to overthrow the regime, many regime elements reacted to the regime's performance in terms of repression and joined the people.

Meanwhile, former Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaei criticized the ideological pressures imposed by the regime on the country's educational system, as well as the nationwide protests that began after the imposition of mandatory hijab, gender segregation in universities, and the removal of specialist professors were among other regime orders, saying: "The pressures imposed over all these years have failed to turn the young generation into a one-dimensional generation with a radical view of the Islamic system."

He also expressed concern about the new wave of migration of students and even university students, and continued: "The main culprit for the migration of these people is the ruling system. The culprits are those who do not give the new generation the necessary space to work, grow, and present a clear and hopeful image. In my opinion, those who migrate cannot be criticized.

"We are not going to fool ourselves. No one accepts or tolerates coercion in behavior, and in practice it will not lead to lasting value. God has given individuals the opportunity to make informed choices and decisions, but some in educational institutions want to proceed with the view of obligation and coercion."

He continued, referring to the unity of people and their unification, adding: "We cannot create people of the same shape with a specific and fixed standard. Therefore, approaches that are based on the use of force, coercion, and restrictions in the field of education will not have effective strategies that lead to effective results. It has been experienced many times, and if we want to repeat this experience again, we will not achieve good results."

The criticism of the regime's elements and leaders against the Islamic ideological system shows their fatigue with the Islamic government and the pressures imposed on the people, some of whom are their own families. This means that the majority of them have joined the people and are calling for the overthrow of the Islamic system.
