Explosion and dust in Pasteur, a massive US and Israeli attack on Iran targeting the Supreme Leader's residence and sensitive centers

The simultaneous military attacks by the US and Israel on Tehran and other cities, the smoke rising around Ali Khamenei's house, and the killing of senior officials indicate the extent of these attacks.

Today, Saturday, February 28, the United States and Israel launched a massive military operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which, according to multiple media sources, resulted in explosions, dust, and smoke in the capital and key areas of the country. The attacks, carried out with the participation of the air and missile forces of the two countries, included targeting the office and surroundings of the Islamic Republic's Supreme Leader's House in the Pasteur area of Tehran, as well as other military and political positions.

Videos published on social media and news networks show columns of dust and smoke rising near Ali Khamenei's office, and witnesses have reported the location where the images were recorded at the intersection of Khadem and Ravanmehr streets, north of Tehran's Pastor neighborhood.

International media have reported widespread explosions in Tehran, Kermanshah, Lorestan, Qom, Karaj, and Tabriz, as well as the sounds of explosions being heard in these cities, while official reports on the exact number of casualties and damages have not yet been published.

According to initial reports, Ali Shamkhani, a top advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Republic and secretary of the Supreme Defense Council, was killed in the attacks. Domestic media reports also indicate that thousands of members of the Revolutionary Guard Corps and other Iranian armed forces were killed or wounded in the attacks, and some sources have stated that command and intelligence centers were targeted.

There has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities about the condition of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other senior officials; some reports say he was moved to a safe location before the attack.

Following these attacks, Iran immediately responded with missiles and drones against targets in Israel and US bases in the Persian Gulf region, including in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, with some sources reporting civilian injuries and damage in these countries.

This military crisis is occurring at a time when nuclear and diplomatic negotiations have been underway in recent weeks to limit Iran's nuclear program, and many countries in the region and around the world have warned against its expansion.

An attack of this scale has sparked widespread international reactions, with some countries calling it a violation of Iran's national sovereignty. Media outlets have also reported that the clashes were followed by fires and explosions in Tehran's 72nd Narmak Square, near the residence of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
