Tyler Robinson arrested in Charlie Kirk murder case

Tyler Robinson, the suspect in the murder of Charlie Kirk, has been arrested.
US authorities have identified the suspect in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, close to Donald Trump. They have named 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah as the suspect in the case and confirmed his arrest.
"We got him," Utah Governor Spencer Cox said at a news conference. "There's someone responsible for what happened here, and that person is now in custody." He said information leaked by the family and a family friend led to Robinson's identification and surrender to authorities.
"Robinson's family and a friend have been cooperating with the process and announced that he will be charged soon," Cox added. He also explained that officers currently have no information that would lead to additional arrests.
The Utah governor revealed that Robinson had become more politically active in recent years. He said that during searches, he found packages with political writings and symbols, including the phrase “Hey, fascist! Get it!” and the Italian slogan “Bella chow.” Another package also read: “If you’re reading this, you’re gay.”
The weapon used in the attack was a Mauser 98 rifle equipped with a camera. Kirk, 31, was shot and killed while giving a speech on the campus of Utah State University.
US President Donald Trump confirmed the suspect's arrest in an interview with Fox & Friends, saying, "I hope he gets the death penalty." He also emphasized that a father and a pastor were involved in turning Robinson over to authorities.
Trump had previously blamed the "radical left" for the incident in a video message and promised to take action against liberal groups he believed were encouraging this type of violence.
Charlie Kirk's body was flown to Arizona on Thursday, September 11, on a private Air Force 2 flight, accompanied by Vice President J.D. Vance. Trump also announced that he would attend the funeral.
The shooting has sparked widespread reactions from both political parties in the United States and has once again brought the issue of political violence in the country back to the forefront of public debate.
